This course is great for giving to my employees that don't have any experience driving a forklift. It covers forklift safety and also gives an interactive experience where the employee can pull the levers in the forklift to make it go forward, backwards, lift, etc. It gives employees all the experience they need before getting behind the wheel of a real forklift. Works great as a refresher course in my corporate forklift safety program too.

Don't believe the hype - NO ONLINE TRAINING provider can certify you to drive a forklift.

While the SafetySkills Forklift Safety Series covers all the elements required under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178, only YOU can certify your employees to drive forklifts and other powered industrial trucks for YOUR company. No other source can do that. SafetySkills can provide the training, the testing, and the certificate of successful completion. You do the certifying.

Ben,

Every company has different requirements for you to complete before driving a forklift for them. However, taking this course, printing a completion certificate and presenting it to a potential employer will show that you are familiar with forklift safety standards, and would be an employee that takes initiative to learn on your own.

I love the training, but I was thinking it might be better if you could be more precise in the wording for the levers on the forklift simulation. Instead of "up" and "down", it might make more sense to relabel the levers "Forward" and "Back", as that's really the direction the levers move. Up and Down is confusing because that's what you're asking them to do with the load, and so they could be moving the lever up (or forward), as they have been asked to raise the load up, but they really need to be moving the lever down (or back).

Hi Cole,

I gave this information to one of our subject matter experts and he thought this was a very good idea and made a lot of sense. We looked at the course and changed the wording on the levers to reflect what you suggested. Thanks for the feedback!
